

WILLIAMS, Bernice Joyce 81, of Shubenacadie, passed away peacefully at home on Saturday December 22, 2012. Born in North Salem, she was the daughter of the late Raymond and Georgia “Dorothy” (Wallace) Parker. Bernice was a school teacher at Belnan and Mill Village. For a number of years was employed at L.D. Williams Grocery in Shubenacadie. She was a member of St. James Anglican Church and ACW, and was a volunteer at Shumilacke Food Bank and the Watson Smith Tinshop Museum. She is survived by sons, Scott (Laura), Grant (Christa) and daughter, Sheila Williams, all of Shubenacadie; grandchildren Veronica, Claudia (Troy) and Ashley; great-grandchildren, Jasmine, Laura-Lee and Troy Jr.; brother Lewis (Blanche) Parker, Bible Hill; sister in-law, Hilda Parker, North Salem; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Claude; brother, Claire “Kay”. Visitation will be 2-4 and 7-9pm Thursday December 27, at Ettinger Funeral Home, 2812 Highway 2, Shubenacadie. A funeral service will be held at the Funeral Home on Friday December 28 at 2pm, Rev. Lloyd Ripley officiating. Spring interment will be held in Brookside Cemetery, Mill Village. A reception will be held in St. James Anglican Church hall, Shubenacadie. Donations may be made to St. James Anglican Church, Brookside Cemetery or to Shumilacke Food Bank.
