

PARKER, Claire G.” Kay” aged 75 of North Salem, Hants Co. passed away Saturday June 6, 2009 at the Colchester Regional Hospital Truro. Born at North Salem, he was a son of the late Raymond and Dot (Wallace) Parker. He started his career as a mechanic at Cunards Coal and Oil Co., Halifax and then with Halifax School board where he drove and maintained school buses. He then worked at Miller Lake DOT where he was a heavy equipment mechanic before becoming shop supervisor. After retirement in 1991, he focused on travelling with his wife, and was a member of Hub Campers Truro. He was a director of Brookside Cemetery Mill Village. He will be sadly missed by his wife Hilda, daughters Darlene Parker, Burnaby B C, Christine (John) Dolan, Pompano Beach, FLA; Julie (Dave) Heron, Bible Hill, eleven grandchildren, five great grandchildren, brother Lewis (Blanche) Parker, Bible Hill, sister Bernice Williams, Shubenacadie, several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a son Terrance “Terry” stepson Richard “Ricky” and a granddaughter Brandi. Visitation will take place from 2-4 and 6-8pm today at the Ettinger Funeral Home, Shubenacadie from where a funeral service will be held 2 pm Tuesday June 9, 2009, Pastor Dale Crawford officiating. Interment to follow in Brookside Cemetery. Family flowers only with donations in Kay’s memory made to the Brookside Cemetery, Shubenacadie United Church, or St. James Anglican Church, Shubenacadie.
