

PARKER, Earl Malcolm - 92, Milford, passed away February 29, 2012 in the Veterans Memorial Building, Halifax. Born in North Salem he was a son of the late Truman and Rosie Parker. Earl lived at the family farm for years in North Salem and later moved to Milford. He was employed with Canadian Corps of Commissioners at the Halifax International Airport for a time, also worked at the Halifax Dartmouth Bridge Commission. Earl drove a truck for Shaws for a number of years from where he retired in 1984. He enjoyed games of cribbage especially every Tuesday at Stewiacke and truck drives in the community. He is survived by daughters Marion (Don) Singer, Thelma (Gary) Higgins, and Marlene Gesner; sons Ronald (Pearl), Melvin (Cynthia), Clarence (Carla), Gordon (Jan), Richard (Wilma), Paul (Vicki); 19 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren, 7 great great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife of 53 years Pearl (Laffin), son-in-law Peter Gesner, brothers Douglas, Lawrence and Lowell. Visitation 2-4 & 7-9 pm, Saturday with funeral service 2pm, Sunday, both in Ettinger Funeral Home, 2812 Highway 2, Shubenacadie, Lori Crocker DM officiating. A reception will follow the service. Spring interment in Brookside Cemetery, Mill Village. Family flowers only. Donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Canadian Cancer Society or a charity of your choice.
