Frances Marie Dowell

Dowell, Francis Marie 65, of Oldham passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family on Friday March 2nd, 2012. Born in Halifax she was a daughter of the late Edison and Kathleen (Harvey) Brown. For thirty two years she was employed with the HRM as a school bus driver until October 2011, during those years she touched the lives of so many children. Frances enjoyed the company of family and friends at her home especially Friday Night Game Nights. She loved to listen to “OLD” country music and visits from grandchildren and great grandchildren. Survived by her loving husband of forty eight years, Merlin, and sons Douglas (Carol) of Oldham; Harvey (Marlene) of Rines Creek; daughter Sherry (Norman) of Oldham, grandchildren Laura, T. J,Josh, Robbie, Angel, Josi, and two great grandchildren Bryson and Gage, two sisters Vicki, and Beverley and four brothers Harry, John, Gary and Paul, special niece Diana and her daughters Christina and Megan. Predeceased by her parents and sister Helen. Visitation will be held Wednesday March 7th, 2012 from 2-4 and 7-9 at the Ettinger Funeral Home Shubenacadie (Exit 10 off Hwy #102).from where funeral services will be held 2pm Thursday, March 8th, 2012 with Rev Angus MacDonald officiating. Interment will take place at a later date. Donations may be made to Oldfield Elementary School in her memory. Special thanks to the VON who not only touched our hearts, but also our lives.
