Ivan Ross Ettinger

ETTINGER, Ivan Ross – 78, Shubenacadie, passed away peacefully Friday, August 15, 2008 surrounded by his loving family. Born in Shubenacadie August 26, 1929 he was a son of the late Leslie and Myrtle (Brenton) Ettinger. He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Helen (Corbett); sons Paul, David and George. He will be sadly missed by his many nephews, nieces and cousins. He was predeceased by his brothers Harold and Carl. Ivan was a graduate of Success Business College and ran a successful family business, Ettinger’s Home Hardware and Welding Shop. Ivan enjoyed life to the fullest, and was never happier than when in the company of family and friends. He was diligent in keeping family photo albums and records. He was an avid sports enthusiast and especially enjoyed playing hockey with brothers Harold and Carl, and cousins Keith and Buddy. The family wishes to thank the VON and palliative care for their care and support during his illness. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Ettinger’s Funeral Home. Visitation will take place Saturday from 2 – 4 pm and 7 – 9 pm, at Ettinger’s Funeral home, with funeral service on Sunday at 2 pm at the Shubenacadie United Church, Shubenacadie, with Pastor Dale Crawford officiating. A reception to follow in the Hospitality Room at the Church. Memorial donations may be made to the Shubenacadie United Church if so desired. Friends and Family may visit his Everlasting Memorial and leave condolences at www.MeM.com. Interment will take place at the Brookside Cemetery, Mill Village.
