Betty Joe Bledsoe-Long, 65, of Sikeston, died November 18, 2014, at the Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston. Born February 20, 1949, in Sikeston, to the late Jack and Virgie Jordan Bledsoe, she was employed as a registered nurse for Beverly Enterprises, until ill health forced her retirement. She was the recipient of the Arkansas Nurses Association of Who’s Who in the Nation for 2009-2010. She was a member of the Shady Acres Church of Christ in Sikeston.
Survivors include: two sons and daughters-in-law, Audrey “Buddy” and Shannon Cox of Walnut Ridge, Ark. and Timothy and Paula Reeves of Jonesboro, Ark.; two daughters and one son-in-law, Stephanie and Mark Memhardt of St. Genevieve and Lena Jacobs of Bono, Ark.; one brother and sister-in-law, Jerry and Nancy Bledsoe of Kelso; and two sisters and one brother-in-law, Shirley Phillips of Cape Girardeau and Loretta and Darrell Ray of Sikeston. Also surviving are seven grandchildren, one step grandson and one great granddaughter.
She was preceded in death by one grandson, Austin Jarrett.
Visitation will begin at 11 a.m. until time of the memorial service at 12 noon on Friday, November 21, 2014, at the Nunnelee Funeral Chapel, with Pat Hogan of the Shady Acres Church of Christ, officiating.
Interment will follow in the Essex Cemetery.
