Geraldine Ackman

She was born on January 16, 1932, in Menfro, MO to the late Louis C. and Isabell Mehner Springer.

On February 8, 1952, at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Cape Girardeau, MO she married Wayland “Chief” Ackman who preceded her in death on May 4, 1980.

Geraldine worked for Sikeston Public Schools for thirty-one years, retiring as manager of the central kitchen where food was prepared for nearly all the schools in the Sikeston school district. She then became the first delivery driver for Randy’s Rx. Her hobbies included going to yard sales, walking and socializing with “Kingsway Mall Walkers”, and watching the Cardinals.

She was a faithful member at Concordia Lutheran Church in Sikeston for fifty-nine years, serving on the Altar Guild for decades.

She is survived by her son, Randy Ackman and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, two sisters and two brothers.

Visitation will be held on Friday, January 16, 2026, from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 11:30 a.m. at Concordia Lutheran Church in Sikeston, MO with Rev. Matthew Berry, officiating.

A private interment will follow in Lorimier Cemetery in Cape Girardeau, MO.
