James E. Burchfield

He was born on October 8, 1932 in Union Township, AR to the late John Lee and Mary Edna Wofford Burchfield.

On November 3, 1956 in Uma, AZ he married Martha Rea Burchfield who preceded him in death on June 21, 2023.

He was a Chief Petty Officer in the United States Navy from 1952 to 1972. He retired in 1992 from Forbis Supply House in Sikeston, MO after twenty years in counter sales.

He is survived by two sons, Steve Burchfield of Sikeston, MO and Jim Burchfield of Sikeston, MO; one daughter, Karen (Steve) McCoy of Ochlocknee, GA; two sisters, Wanda Dye of Florida and Pasty Oswald of Kennett, MO; nine grandchildren; seventeen great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren.

In addition to his wife and parents he was preceded in death by seven brothers, Milburn Burchfield, Vernon Burchfield, Garland Burchfield, Rudy Burchfield, Wendell Burchfield, Hart Burchfield and Harold Burchfield and four sisters, Una Mae Rhodes, Elizabeth Burchfield, Maxine Curtis and Faye Cunningham.

A family graveside service will be held on Thursday, July 6, 2023 at Memorial Park Cemetery in Sikeston, MO with Military Honors.
