

James "Cecil" Carroll, 90, died August 30, 2016, at his home in Miner. Born September 20, 1925, in Center Ridge, Ark., to the late Homer and Dona Ollinger Carroll, he served in the United States Navy during World War II. He was employed by Malone & Hyde, retiring in 1988. He was of the Methodist belief.
Survivors include: one son and daughter-in-law, Dean and Carolyn Carroll of Dexter; one daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Don Curtis of Sikeston; two sisters, Geraldine Vines of Miner and Betty Moser of O'Fallon, Mo.; four grandchildren; six great grandchildren and eight great-great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, one sister, and one great grandson, Drew Albritton.
Visitation will begin at 11 a.m. until time of the funeral service at 1 p.m. on Thursday, September 1, 2016, at the Nunnelee Funeral Chapel, with John Neeley, pastor of the Tanner Street Church of God in Sikeston, officiating.
Interment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery in Sikeston, with full military honors provided by the Missouri Military Honor Guard.
