
Lyle Dean Davis Sr., 69, formerly of Advance, died August 13, 2015, at the home of his son in Bell City. Born August 8, 1946, in Sioux City, Iowa, to the late William McKinley and Reba Irene Hearnes Davis, he was employed for many years by Edward Dement Farms. On August 19, 1967, in Morehouse, he married Wilma Lou Edwards, who preceded him in death on December 29, 2010.
Survivors include: one son and daughter-in-law, Lyle and Shannon Davis Jr. of Bell City; two daughters and one son-in-law, Rebecca and John Lewis of Canalou and Sandra Davis of Sikeston; three brothers, Donald Davis of Kingsley, Iowa, Kay Eugene Davis of Fairfield, Calif. and Merlin Davis of Omaha, Neb.; and five sisters, Marie Hacker of Sioux City, Iowa, Marjorie Coon of Hornick, Iowa, June Peters of Sioux City, Carol Rupe of Electric City, Wash. and Lana Griffin of Meridian, Idaho. Also surviving are 7 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.
In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by one granddaughter, Kylie Melynn Davis, one brother, Jerry Davis, and one sister, Ellinor Davis.
Visitation will begin at noon until time of funeral services at 1 p.m. on Saturday, August 15, at the Nunnelee Funeral Chapel.
Interment will follow in the Carpenter Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Lyle Davis Jr., Erin McCoy, John Lewis, Raymond McWhirter, Brian Johnson, Shawn Payne, Mike Gramlisch and Christian Lewis.
