
Monroe Clifton “Bud” Holland, 69 of Vanduser, died July 14, 2011 the Missouri Delta Medical Center. He was born on January 2, 1942, in Daingerfield, TX to the late Henry Clifton and Bertha Pauline Dyer Holland. He attended the Circle City Pentecostal Church and had worked for Wapaca in Sikeston and Dockings Electric in Bell City. He taught mechanics in the US Army and retired with the rank of Sergeant First Class. He was also a member of the Sikeston Eagles Aerie 3319. On June 22, 1991 in Chaffee he married Betty Gross who survives of the home.
Other survivors include two sons and two daughters in law; Christopher and Tammy Copeland of Dexter, Ben and Jennifer Hall of Matthews, one daughter and son-in-law, Peggy and Mike Duncan of Dexter; two brothers, Eugene Holland of Gray Ridge and Jack Willard Holland of Poplarville, MS; four sisters, Lois Malone of Benton, AR, Glenys Duckworth of Sikeston, Pat Daniels of Derby, MS and Henrietta Hicks of Derby, MS. Eight Grandchildren and seven great grandchildren also survive. He was preceded in death by five brothers, Max William Holland, Bobby Henry Holland and three infant boys; two sisters, Mary Redman and an infant girl.
Visitation will be on Sunday, July 17, 2011 from 5:00pm until 8:00pm at the Nunnelee Funeral Chapel. The funeral will be Monday at 1:30 pm in the Nunnelee Chapel with the Rev. Randy Conn of the First General Baptist Church in Morehouse officiating. Burial with full military honors provided by the Missouri Military Honor Guard Unit will follow in the Missouri Veterans Cemetery at Bloomfield.
