Roger Clinton Elledge II, age 46, passed away peacefully on September 30, 2023, at Southeast Hospital surrounded by those dearest to him in life - his parents, Roger & Tamara Elledge, and his daughter, Madelyn Grace Elledge.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Marjorie Ruth McFerron and Howard Harry Hardman Jr, and paternal grandparents, Dorman Clint & Hester Agnes Elledge.
Roger was born on December 23, 1976. Roger an only child, was very close to both of his parents and inherited the very best traits of both….his mother's love of the lake & animals as well as her zest for life, his father's calm measured demeanor, and their mutual love of family & friends. They instilled a strong sense of faith in their son that was apparent in how he lived his life. Many of Roger’s happiest childhood memories were related to his time with the Boy Scouts of America where he earned the rank of Eagle Scout. He took great pride being a part of the staff at Camp Roy C Manchester on Kentucky Lake where he made many lifelong friends and cultivated his love of water sports. Roger loved spending time with family and friends at Kentucky Lake. He loved boating, water skiing, tubing, and shared that love with his daughter. A lover of animals from an early age, He could not pass a dog without a pat and a treat. He leaves behind his little buddy, Lucky, who will be well taken care of by family, friends, and his daughter. A 1995 graduate of Sikeston Senior High, Roger then attended Transylvania University in Lexington, Kentucky where he was a member of the Transy Swim Team and Phi Kappa Tau Fraternity. He graduated in 1999 with a Bachelor of Arts degree with emphasis in Finance & Management. Roger was a long time employee of Sikeston Motor Company, founded by his Grandfather Clinton Elledge and most recently Lutesville Motor Company. He was a Ford lover from birth. He took great pride in being a part of a family business and one that helped build America. He enjoyed working with his grandfather, father, and the team at then Sikeston Motors which was like family to him. His pride and joy was his only child, Madelyn Grace Elledge. From her birth in 2001 onward he devoted himself to her. They shared a love of sports, 80s rock music, lake life, and all sorts of movies. Anyone who ran into him was guaranteed an update on Madelyn and his pride of her was apparent to all. Not only did he love her, but her many friends as well. He loved to see them around town and loved watching them grow up into the people they have become today. He was a patient and loving father and the quote best attributed to his life is as follows…. “If all I am ever known for is being your father, that is a gift to me.”
