He was born on July 23, 1946 in Elkton, MD. to the late Warren and Rachel Walstrum Thompson.
He served in the United States Navy. He was a member of First Missionary Baptist Church in Matthews, MO.
On October 30, 1971 in Elkton, MD. he married Diane Thompson who survives of the home in Sikeston, MO.
In addition to his wife he is survived by one son, Matt Thompson of Sikeston, MO.; one sister Debbie Cambell of Elkton, MD.; six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one son, Scott Thompson and one sister, Ilene Rothwell.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
