

Russell Doyle “Bob” Hasty, 84, of Sikeston, died June 16, 2015, at the Miner Nursing Center. Born March 22, 1931, in Ironton, to the late Herman Elzie and Fannie K. Fitzgerald Hasty, he was retired from Sikeston Public Schools following thirty years of service in the maintenance department. He had served in the U.S. Army and was a member of the Garden Ridge General Baptist Church. On June 18, 1955, in Sikeston, he married Kathern “Claudean” Robey, who survives of the home.
Additional survivors include two sons, Russell David Hasty and Jimmy Ray Hasty, both of Sikeston; two daughters, Linda Faye Overby and Paula Annette Bugg, both of Wickliffe, Ky.; and two sisters, Marcella Brown of Bell City and Betty Sue Dixon of Sikeston. Also surviving are six grandchildren, seven great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by five brothers, Ettel Hasty, Roy Hasty, Carl Hasty, Harold Hasty and Donald Hasty; and two sisters, Beulah Morris and Rhoda Tidwell.
Visitation will begin at 11 a.m. until time of the funeral service at 1 p.m. on Thursday, June 18, at the Nunnelee Funeral Chapel, with Rev. Bill Fox, pastor of the Garden Ridge General Baptist Church, officiating.
Interment will follow at the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield.
Pallbearers will be Greg Bugg, Daryl Case, Patrick Bugg, Travis Hasty, Brian Dixon, Kevin Sharp and Christopher Hasty.
