She was born on September 19, 1929, in Alicia, AR to the late William and Mary Hilliard Nicholas.
On April 14, 1951, in Piggott, AR she married Quitman “Bo” Dill, the love of her life, who preceded her in death on April 7, 1982, whom she is now reunited.
Wanda was a member of First General Baptist Church in Morehouse, MO and loved the Lord to her last breath. She was a self-employed beautician for many years, and a member of the Order of the Eastern Star for fifty years. Wanda spent countless hours with hobbies she loved including crocheting, playing the guitar and singing, listening to country music, quilting, Facebook’ing, and following St. Louis Cardinals baseball. She was very proud of her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren and their spouses and always made sure they knew they were loved.
She is survived by her four children: Ron (Cyndie) Peek of Houston, TX, Keith (Renée) Dill of Huntsville, AL, Sandy (Tommy) Smith of Millersville, MO, Randy (Linda) Dill of Morehouse, MO; eighteen grandchildren: Nicholas (Jessica) Peek, Nathan Peek, Tracie (Gus) Conn, Tricia (Clark) Ferley, Katie (Jeff) McCulley, Emily (Mikey) Todd, Allison (Rob) Davis, Harper (fiancée – Josalynn) Cox, Bailey Cox, Caleb Smith, Tyler Smith, Jacob Smith, Chaylynn Smith, Destiny (Tyler) Harris, Nevaeh (Josh) Randol, Christopher Shultz, Austin Dill, Madison (Stephen) Belcher; and fifteen great-grandchildren: Trent Kuntscher, Jove Vestal Peek, Everett Rose Ferley, Bowie Dean Ferley, Waylon Ferley, Zayne Atmeh, Grayson McCulley, Avery Todd, Olivia Todd, Jackson Davis, Owen Davis, Hazel Harris, River Harris, Myles Harris, Jameson Randol; many loving nieces and nephews, long time friend Georgia Neal, and caring friend and neighbor Doris Blattel.
In addition to her parents and husbands she was preceded in death by five brothers and three sisters.
Visitation will be held on Friday, May 3, 2024, from 9:00 a.m. until time of the funeral service at 11:00 a.m. at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel in Sikeston, MO.
Interment will follow at the Missouri Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield, MO.
Pallbearers: Nicholas Peek, Nathan Peek, Caleb Smith, Tyler Smith, Jacob Smith, Austin Dill.
Honorary Pallbearers: Christopher Shultz, Harper Cox.
The family wishes to acknowledge the late Charles (Chuck) Hileman, Wanda’s husband after Bo’s passing, who was a caring and loving soul and a wonderful grandfather to her grandchildren; her dear nephew Glenn Phillips for his devotion of nearly 90 years; past patrons of Dill’s Beauty Shop; and all the love and care provided by the staff at The Chateau Girardeau.
