Adrienne Pearl Sussman

Adrienne Pearl Sussman (nee Deitch), at the age of 79, passed away peacefully in her home in Laurel, Maryland on January 18, 2026, with her son, Scott and daughter-in-law, Kelly at her side after a two-year battle with lung cancer.

Born in Bronx, NY on November 1,1946 to Hyman and Sylvia Deitch, Adrienne moved to Silver Spring, Maryland when she was 10 years old along with her parents, brothers Stanley and Ronnie, and grandmother, Minnie Kaufman. She graduated from Northwood High School in 1964 and went on to be a hairdresser and then a bookkeeper. In 1983, she married her second husband, Gilbert Sussman, the love of her life, and settled in their home on Balboa Drive in Silver Spring where they raised their son, Scott. Unfortunately, Gil passed away in 2014.

Adrienne enjoyed shopping, in person and online, and mahjong with longtime friends, but her greatest joy was her grandchildren who she loved fiercely.

Adrienne is survived by her son, Scott Sussman (Kelly Durkin), her brothers, Stanley Deitch (Gale) and Ronald Deitch, her stepson, Benjamin Sussman (Jill), grandchildren, Braeden and Hailley Sussman, step-grandchildren Samuel and Isabelle Sussman, niece Marcie Epstein (Steven), nephew Matthew Deitch, grandnephew Jackson, and many cousins and friends.

A graveside service will be held on Friday, January 23, 2026 at 12:00 noon at Judean Memorial Gardens, 16225 Batchellors Forest Road, Olney, Maryland 20832.
