Amalia Carrera, age 87, was peacefully called home to the Lord, surrounded by the love of the many lives she touched. She was with the love of her life, Mauro Carrera Sr., starting in 1961. Together they shared years of devotion to family and faith until his passing in 2006, after which Amalia carried his memory in her heart.
Amalia was known for her vibrant spirit. She was loud, deeply caring, and endlessly loving, especially to those who needed to feel loved. Her voice was distinct and unmistakable, proudly heard from the sidelines of countless games and filling the air at the many parties and gatherings shared with family and friends. Her presence was always felt, and her love was always known.
She is survived by her four children, 20 grandchildren, and 6 great-grandchildren, who were her greatest joy and pride. Her love and influence continue through each generation.
Amalia’s nurturing heart extended far beyond her own family. She lovingly nannied children, caring for them into adulthood and making a profound and lasting impact on their lives. To many, she was more than a caregiver—she was family.
True to her Catholic faith, Amalia lived a life rooted in service. She opened her home to family, friends, and anyone in need, no matter the reason. Her home was a place of refuge, warmth, and unconditional welcome.
Amalia Carrera will be remembered for her strong voice, open heart, unwavering faith, and boundless generosity. As we mourn her passing, we take comfort in the promise of eternal life, trusting that she now rests in the loving arms of our Lord.
May the Lord grant her eternal rest, and may perpetual light shine upon her. Amen.
