

The family moved to Ann Arbor, MI and she grew up attending Ann Arbor Public Schools, graduating from Pioneer High School in 1986.
Dr. Cash received her undergraduate degree at Northern Michigan, a Bachelor of Arts in 1992. A certificate in French as a second language at Laval University (Quebec City, Montreal) in 1993, (du Programme Special de Francais Pour Non-Francophones). Master of Arts in Development Studies at the University of Leeds in 2005. Master of Arts in African Studies at Edinburgh University in 2010. PhD in International Development at Reading University (United Kingdom) in 2014.
Dr. Cash was honored with a special recognition of Support PKO-SOUTH 03 - Buenos Aires, Argentina in 2003, also at the 2017 Africa Conference on Economic Costs of Disasters (Gauteng Province, Co-Operative Governance and Traditional Affairs Republic of South Africa)

Prior to Dr. Cash’s 10-year stint studying overseas, she was a United Nations tour guide and met many dignitaries while working as an aide to Boutros Boutros-Ghali. She was a gymnastics coach for the Hill’s Angels team at Hill’s Gymnastics owned by Kelli Hill in Gaithersburg, VA. Upon returning to the United States, she was a lecturer at Christopher Newport University in Newport News, VA – in African Politics and International Development, and Intro to Comparative Politics & International Relations & Senior Seminar. She worked as a consultant for extractives program management and research for UNDP Namibia and the International Institute for Sustainable Development, freelancing for International Development. She managed the Liberia section of the four-country regional project in West Africa at GIZ. (Monrovia, Liberia)
Dr. Cash enjoyed traveling, visiting over 30 countries. She was fluent in French, as well as German. She was a #1 fan of the Michigan Wolverines and Pittsburgh Steelers, never missed a game.
Dr. Cash survived by her mother Marjorie O. Cash (Ann Arbor, MI), sister Olivia C. Cash (Atlanta, GA), half-siblings William L. Cash III (Detroit, MI), Marcia Cash Herring (Greensboro, NC), Lisa Cash (Los Angeles, CA). Aunt Delores Fusilier. Cousins Lisa Olivier, Carolyn Thompson Barnes, Junius Thompson Jr, Junius Thompson III, Vicki Rhodes, and Herron Vines. Special friends Kimberly Berry Peterson, Berry/DaSilva/Peterson Family, Sheppard Family, Milne/Stobie Family, and a host of other relatives and friends that loved and supported her.
