I've never imagined a world in which there is no Avniel to make me laugh and to be there when I reach out to him to share a joke or discuss ideas. 
Our Father God in his wisdom decided to call Avniel home. We may never understand why he was called home so early.  In this time of sorrow we call on our faith in our Father God.  Through our enduring and infallible trust in His wisdom, we know that Avniel is at peace in Heaven.  He is a deserving soul for a special place in Heaven as he was genuinely kind, caring, loving, and full of integrity. We loved him here on earth, we continue to love him since he's in Heaven, we hold the memories of him in our hearts, and we forever cherish the moments we were blessed to have him with us here on earth. 
God bless his family, give them peace knowing that their loving Avniel is at rest in Heaven, and comfort knowing that one day, they will be together again.

Avi was an inspiration too many. He inspired people to actually try and talk it out instead of yelling at each other. 
I had not been a member of his group very long when he was lost to everyone. What I did get to know about him was that he was very kind and caring for all life. He had away that just drew people in. Even when discord was happening in the group he knew just how to turn it around .

I am deeply sorry for the loss of your son, brother and nephew.  
I only knew Avniel for the last several months through his political discussion group on Facebook.    We had countless interactions there,  going back and forth,  sometimes agreeing, often disagreeing about something.   But the discussions were always civil.   He never attacked me or anyone else in a personal way.   No matter our political disagreements (and we had many agreements) I always knew he was a good person,  really a mensch.   I always felt I knew him at some deeper level than just discussing issues on a Facebook page.   I meant to message or call him directly but regrettably never got around to it.   I think we actually probably had a lot in common.   It's obvious from all the comments since his passing that everyone he encountered thought very highly of him.  
  As you go through the agony of grieving his loss, please know that there are many of us out here who are thinking of you and sharing in your grief.   Avniel certainly touched a lot of lives in a lot of ways and places.

Avniel was a truly extraordinary individual! His warmth, caring and ability to connect with people was wonderful. His sharp mind was able to take complex issues and explain them in a respectful a respectful manner that included all perspectives.  When we mer, we instantly bonded, and I felt as though I had known him for years. I will miss him very much. May his memory be a blessing to his family and all who had the privilege of knowing him!

Avi was truly a one of a kind person. Part time niche internet celebrity, part time football expert, and full time tremendous friend. I never got to meet Avi in person but we spoke multiple times a day over the years and every conversation was a blessing. 

Avi had three great passions in life; politics, the Commanders, and animals. Avi's big focus in politics was always to bridge the gap between the two sides of the political aisle. I have never seen someone so willingly put themselves out there to a storm of criticism and hate in the pursuit of civil conversation. But that was Avi's superpower, he could find common ground and form a friendship with anyone regardless of their background or perspective. It's something I always admired about him. Fiercely opinionated but always open minded, Avi's work will live on in his political group; All About US Politics, where he worked endlessly to foster a place for civil conversation and debate between the two sides.

When Avi was not working tirelessly to connect the two sides of the political spectrum he was most likely watching his beloved Commanders or watching film on his favorite college players so he could share an in-depth scouting report to all of us in our group chat. We're all convinced he never slept but that was Avi. One second he was drafting up mock legislation to fix the healthcare system and the next he was publishing his five-year plan on how to make the Commanders perennial Super Bowl Champions.

Avi, I will miss talking to you at crazy hours in the night about all things ranging from the United States Citizenship Test to debating whether or not some random DII 6th year senior Wide Receiver would be the next big thing in the NFL. Love you brother.

Long Live Avniel

Dear Avni, What a joy it was to grow up with you.  You were brilliant, kind and gentle.  Thank you for making all people feel loved and seen.  Thank you for being you and making this world a better place., as well as so many lives.  I love and will miss you.

My world is sadder without Avniel in it. We chatted often.  I will miss him, I only knew him from facebook. He taught me the constitution and the difference in religion as I was against Muslims. He was always hopeful always so patient. 
   I am a veteran, he spoke often how war has changed. He truly believed in AI. 
   I am so very sorry for your loss, I will never understand why good people are taken from us so soon. Avniel had a lot left to accomplish. I will always miss him. 💔

I met Avni through work years ago.  Conversations were certainly interesting.  He was a curious guy.   He asked good questions and actually listened to answers.  He cared about what you thought.   I recently joined his political social group to reconnect.   From joining his group, I quickly learned how much he cared for dogs and was an advocate for saving them. It was really cool seeing another side of him after all these years.  You left too soon buddy. You'll be missed dearly my friend.

I am still in disbelief that we have lost Avniel. I am so sorry for your loss.

I have never met anyone as caring, upbeat, and hopeful as Avniel. Polite, open, honest,  Interested and interesting. Informed, yet undaunted. Joyful. Fun. Creative. Smart. Loving. His loss is unimaginable, for you all, for us, for the world.

The audience for his page may exceed TEN THOUSAND people, who were graced with the exchange of ideas he promoted.

💔 I am sending so much love as well as my deepest and more sincere condolences. Avni has always been intelligent, honest and authentic. A great person all around.

I only knew Avniel virtually, but he had a unique talent of balancing a dialogue between political tribes that surpasses anyone I’ve ever met. Even though we agreed, and people who don’t agree with me block me, he was able to keep the lines of dialogue open with everyone. 

My greatest regret was not having met him in person. May his memory be for a blessing.

Avniel was a good man. He was a voice of courtesy and reason in our troubled times. We also shared a belief in the importance of our constitutional rights and in our federal republic. He also had a deep love of dogs. Which I share. A life well lived.

Avniel was a fantastic person who was multi faceted and kind.  I felt he loved people almost as much as he loved animals.  I'm angry he was taken from us,  I think he had so much more to do. I will think of him always. Zichrono Livracha.

There was a time where I found myself playing frogger on I270 from 495 at 3am.  That was the only way I could get home.  I still had 10 exits to go.   To make it less boring, I texted Avni to see what's up with him.  We started texting back and forth.  When he realized my situation, he insisted that I get off the high way at the next exit.  He ordered me an Uber.   Avni acted in kindness and compassion when I was at my lowest point expecting nothing in return.  As trivial as the incident was, his action really improved my outlook on life and my faith in humanity's virtue.

We have lost Avniel? Oh my God. What a shock. He was so young and full of life. Even though we only knew each other through his group on Facebook, he was one of the few friends I had. I can not even post my regrets at his loss because I am restricted by Facebook. I lost my mother on 23 March and now Avniel. He always had a kind word to say and he helped me deal with my problems. This is a tragedy. We always seem to lose the best people. May his family know that he was loved my me and so many others and by the dogs that he did so much to help.  I will always remember Avniel. Avniel was a kind, generous & loving person. His online forum sought to bring our country together through respectful dialogue, something sorely missing on other online platforms. I will miss his voice, his reasoning, his historical knowledge that informed him, and his communication skills.

I met Avniel Serkin-Ahmed online almost five years ago, where we were both posting on an extreme right wing Facebook page where we became allies as people were personally savaging us. We started communicating on line first and having lunch together.  Almost 4 years ago launched the “All About USA Politics”  page with the hopes of creating a page where people from the whole political spectrum could have civil, but passionate dialogue and debate. ￼ We didn’t always get it right, but damn we did our very best. ￼

I loved him with all my heart. He was a human and so like all of us less than perfect but genuinely special in the best of ways ￼. He exemplified the quote ascribed to Voltaire “￼￼ I may disapprove of what you say, but I would defend to the death your  right to say it.“￼

No matter what he did or how people perceived it I can assure you that his ￼intentions we’re always to make this world a better place. Always.

I already miss him so intensely. We communicated daily  multiple times by messenger on things that went well  beyond Facebook. He was  my little brother and I will always hold him in my heart.

For those who read this, please note that donations should be made to the Humane Society. He loved dogs fiercely and couldn’t stand to see them being mistreated or being sent to kill shelters.
