May 24, 1966 – June 6, 2025
Bruce Alan Pattishall, Sr., age 59, of Silver Spring, Maryland, passed away peacefully at home on Friday, June 6, 2025, after a long and courageous battle with esophageal cancer.
Born on May 24, 1966, Bruce was the beloved son of the late Donald G. Pattishall and Anna M. Zonneveld, both of whom he cherished deeply. Bruce lived his life with generosity, strength, integrity, and deep devotion to those he loved.
Bruce is survived by his devoted wife, Brenda L. Pattishall, who was the love of his life and steadfast partner for over 30 years. He was a proud and loving father to Bruce A. Pattishall, Jr. (Alex Iriarte), Stacy L. White (Daryl), and Thomas R. Shadrick. Bruce was a cherished grandfather to Anthony Shadrick, Cadence, Jordan and Elena White.
He also leaves behind his sister, Carla Wessells (Tom) and brothers Frank, Ron and Tom Robertson; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, in-laws, and many close friends who were like family to him.
For over 25 years, Bruce owned and operated a successful catering truck business in Arlington, Virginia. He took great pride in providing daily food service to the construction crews working to renovate the Pentagon—both before and after 9/11—and was honored to serve those helping to rebuild in its aftermath. A true patriot, Bruce loved his country deeply and never hesitated to express his pride in being an American.
Bruce will be remembered for his warm heart, quick wit, and quiet strength. His sense of humor could brighten any room, and his unending love for his family and friends was felt by all who knew him.
A celebration of Bruce’s life will be announced at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Bruce’s memory to the Tunnel to Towers Foundation, supporting veterans and first responders.
