We were so sad to hear of the passing of your husband and father Burt.  We remember him in his younger years with his great personality, wit and humor.  May the memories you have in your hearts give you strength during your time of mourning and help preserve Burt's legacy!

Dear Kahn family:
Burt and I had both a social and professional relationship for over 25 years. We were bonded by our mutual love of golf. Professionally, I acted as a sounding board and expert witness for Burt and I had the reassurance of having him  act as my legal counsel. Having been in the court room with him , I can state that his preparation, skills , and brilliance as a trail attorney were second to none. I will surely miss him and our stimulating conversations. Dear Carol snd the Kahn family,

I had some of my biggest and best belly-laughs with Burt. He had an amazing dry sense of humor that never failed him. Whether it was at our wine club, over a backyard grill or on the golf course, Burt could always say something wry or funny in the moment.  He took special pride in his family, practically earned his medical degree by studying for his many cases, and was a faithful, caring friend. I, like you, will miss him terribly. We wish you all at least some small comfort from knowing how much we all loved him. He was one of a kind.

I interacted with Burt many years ago when we both were at a Gym in Silver Spring. As a Gastroenterologist I could have easily perceived him as an "enemy," malpractice attorney. The contrary was true. He was an honest and ethical person who always wanted correct information and if he took a client he wanted it to be for the right reason. It was a pleasure to know him and I'm grateful that I never experienced him as an adversary in a courtroom as I know that he was formidable.

I was so saddened to hear about Burt. I will always remember him with great fondness. He was a great person and attorney. I know he is greatly missed by many.

Carol,
I am so sorry for your loss.  Burt was such a nice guy. Even tho we didn’t see him very often we always enjoyed talking to him.  He was very concerned about my back problem  and gave me very good advice for which I’ll always be grateful. Stay strong and always remember the good times. 
We are both sorry we cannot attend the service today but we are at the end of Covid so we are not getting around anyone.

Dear Khan Family,

Please accept my deepest condolences.
I remember Bert being a wonderful husband and father.
One day when I was at the house, their puppy Zoey stepped on a bee, I pulled the stinger out of her paw. Carol was out of town at the time. I panicked and called Bert telling him what happened, I was concerned that she might be allergic, he remained calm throughout and thanked me for taking care of her. He will be sorely missed.

When I think of Burt, I will always smile.  He was the perfect combination of intelligence, compassion and good humor.  He was also the heart and sole of Joseph, Greenwald & Laake, P.A., the only law firm he ever worked for.  Anyone who was fortunate enough to call him a friend will both take comfort in the privilege and miss him dearly.

Missing Burt already , and thinking of all of you during your time of grief, and hoping a lifetime of memories will live with you always. 
He was an amazing man, and I am sending you a special note to give you at the Shiva.  He loved his family above all -as you know.
