A Memory of My Dad
My dad was the kind of person who lived with a heart full of adventure and compassion. He was always eager to try new things and explore the unknown. I remember the way his eyes would light up when he talked about his latest hobby or the next big project he was about to dive into. Whether it was embarking on a spontaneous road trip or visiting many family members.
But what stood out most about my dad was how deeply involved he was in our community. He wasn’t just someone who volunteered when it was convenient; he was committed to making the world around him a better place. I saw him donate his time, energy, and even his own resources to causes he cared about. Whether it was organizing a local fundraiser, helping neighbors with their gardens, or simply offering a listening ear to those who needed it, he was always there—never asking for anything in return.
His affection and love were evident in everything he did. His kindness wasn’t just reserved for family, but extended to everyone he met. I remember how he always made sure to show his appreciation for those around him, whether it was a warm hug, a funny story, or a simple “I’m proud of you.” It was in these small but significant gestures that I felt the depth of his love.
My dad was committed, not just to his family, but to the values he believed in. He made sure we knew the importance of hard work, respect for others, and the joy of being involved in something larger than ourselves. His legacy isn’t just in the memories of adventures and hobbies he pursued, but in the way he made everyone feel valued and heard.

I was so saddened to hear about Mr. Yon’s passing.  I grew up the neighborhood and spent many years playing at his house . I will always remember him with a big gentle smile on his face. He was quiet but had a great sense of humor and lived his family! I know that he will be missed by all. I pray that he is at peace now and free from any pain and discomfort. I know he will remain alive in the hearts of those who love him. Wishing all of his family and friends peace and comfort during this very sad and painful time!
