Elisabeth Viktoria Irving, age 75, of Silver Spring, Maryland passed away on Saturday, December 18, 2021. Elisabeth was born on February 21, 1946 in Stockholm, Sweden. She was raised by Sven and Elsa Karlsson. Elisabeth graduated from a Swedish Finishing School, a Pediatric Nursing School specializing in maternity care, and Stockholm University with a Master’s degree in Social Services specializing in counseling. She ran her own parrot business.
The funeral will be held at at Hines-Rinaldi Funeral Home in Silver Spring on Saturday January 8, 2022 at 12 PM, with services starting at 1 PM
Elisabeth, affectionately known as “Lisa”, is survived by her husband of 36 years, William, and her daughters, Victoria Irving (Tim Wood) and Susanne Seaborn, her son Peter (Anna Aldebring) Aldebring, grandson Eric, and granddaughters Hannah and Sarah. She is also survived by her brothers Bengt, Hasse, and Bosse.
Lisa was known for her style, grace, and her strength. She was an avid reader, animal lover, and will always be remembered for her timeless beauty. She was intelligent and outspoken. She was not afraid to voice her opinion, even if it was considered taboo among “traditionalists”. Lisa was absolutely inspirational, in fact, she had helped countless people find meaning in their own lives through her work as an advisor. She later interviewed people who came to buy her hand raised parrots to see if they were allowed to have them. This often led to long afternoon discussions.
Lisa would want those who loved her to know she is with you, even if you can’t see her, hug her, or kiss her. She is there for you.
In lieu of flowers, the Irving family requests that you play a song by Elisabeth’s favorite band, ABBA, whenever you miss her. If you listen closely you may even hear Lisa’s voice singing, “I'll be there when you arrive. The sight of you will prove to me I'm still alive, and when you take me in your arms, and hold me tight, I know it's gonna mean so much tonight.”
Rest In Peace Lisa, you are loved beyond the moon.
