We thank God for the life Mrs.  Ilona Chukwudebe lived. I pray for her soul to Rest In Peace. I’m also praying for us, the family and friend, asking for peace of God to be with each and every one of us at this bereavement time.

 TRIBUTE TO A VICTORIOUS WOMAN

The news of the demise of our dear amiable wife, Mrs. Ilona Rosette Chukwudebe came to us like a blizzard, shattering the hearts and nerves of many. My memories recalled the symbiotic life you exposed us to when we met you in Enugu in the late 1970's.

You were courteous, polite, well groomed with undying devotion to the family at large. Your spouse passed on in your prime of youth, but you stood firmly as a loving mother to your precious children. Furthermore, your ardent love for the family brought you from the diaspora to Onitsha to honour an invitation for the wedding ceremony of my daughter in 2009.

Rosette, thank you for all the love and sweet memories and may your soul rest in the bosom of the LORD- Amen!!!

A TRIBUTE TO MRS. ILONA ROSETTE CHUKWUDEBE.

Once upon a time, an extraordinarily beautiful rose was dropped into the Agadagba clan of Onitsha Kingdom by Engineer Osy Chukwudebe of blessed memory.

In the year 2018, midway she came on a flighty visit to our family house. That visit was significant because she did not come into the living room. All our discussions were held outside. It was as if she was bound for other, more serious clime. She left Nigeria, and never came back. The news was that our  Rosette has passed on. We will miss your lovely smile. We will miss your witty talk. Rosette came, she saw and conquered. 
She integrated wholly into our  family. She left behind five renowned children whom we are greatly proud to be associated with and claim as our own, any day, anytime.

But, and a big But....
We would have wished and loved to have you buried beside your beloved husband as a constant reminder that once upon a time there lived a sweet, amiable lady in our family.

Remain blessed wherever you are. I know it is well with you. To all her Children and family, please accept our heartfelt condolence from my children and I.

TRIBUTE TO OUR DARLING WIFE, MRS. ILONA ROSETTE CHUKWUDEBE.

We received the passing on of our dear wife Mrs. Ilona Rosette Chukwudebe with great shock. She was a heroine. Strong, very Intelligent.  A great woman indeed. She brought a lot of sunshine to the  Chukwudebe family in Onitsha and made every one of us feel very special. She gave us good and intelligent children. She knew and respected all her husband's family members and took care of them as some lived with her at some point. She had a very cordial relationship with my dad, Late Ugonabo  Engr. Dennis Chukwudebe who fondly called her ROSETTA. She  also wrote in my dad's funeral brochure that my dad was one of the first family members she met when he received her on her first visit to Onitsha and he treated her with respect. She was extremely kind and a great cook and made sure she prepared Nigerian soups and dishes whenever family members visited.

Aunty was fun to be around. During one of her visits to Nigeria, at that time my dad was ill but coincidentally my mum's school had their Christmas party and the kids did a dance with Feliz Navidad... Aunty Rosetta got up and danced with the kids. My dad was so pleased that he got up from his sick bed to watch her dance. She was phenomenal and great with children. She established PLAYLEARN CENTRE for children in the 1970s in Enugu, Nigeria. She was the first Chukwudebe to start a school in Nigeria. Her last visit to Nigeria in 2018, she visited us. We were so delighted to see her but we never knew it was her last time. But Olisa, Nonso's son did something significant. All the other children came to say hello to her but Olisa climbed and sat on her legs and didn't want to get down.  



Aunty knew, respected and followed the Onitsha traditions to the letter and this played out when Chiefo got married in Onitsha. Aunty made sure  she visited and invited all her husband's family members,  the Chukwudebes, and those from her husband's maternal family. She remembered all of them. None were left out.  
Our heroine. Our beautiful wife. We miss you. And if we had a say, we would wish that you be buried in Onitsha beside my uncle Osy where you actually belong.

It was heartbreaking when I got the sad news.The little time we spent when you came to Nigeria was amazing not  knowing that would be the last time i see you. We will surely miss you but God knows the best.
