Italo Santucci, 85, of Silver Spring, Maryland, passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 24, 2026, surrounded by his loving family.
Born on September 15, 1940, in Alatri, Italy, Italo immigrated to the America at the age of 19 in search of opportunities and a better life. Through hard work, determination, and an unwavering dedication to his craft, he built a life centered on family and his deep love for barbering.
Italo was a barber for nearly 60 years—a profession that was not just his livelihood, but his true passion. Few things brought him greater joy than cutting hair and building lasting relationships over the years. His barbershop chair was more than a place for a haircut; it was a space for connection and stories. He took great pride in serving generations of families, leaving a lasting impression on all who knew him.
Italo is survived by his wife of 62 years, Angie Santucci; his daughters, Anna (Bob) O’Hagan and Rita (Steve) Wolfe; and his son, Stephen (Maureen) Santucci; grandchildren Brooke (Marvin) Juarez, Janie (George) Townsend, Taylor Santucci, Danny (Sophia) O’Hagan, Justin Wolfe, Bryan Wolfe, and Jeremy Santucci; great-granddaughters (who he cherished more than anything) Cora, Hazel, Emilia, Lainey, and Annabelle (who is expected in July).
He is also survived by his siblings, Milena (Nick) Farace, Sergio Santucci, and Carlo (Leslie) Santucci. He was preceded in death by his parents, Raffaele and Lucia Santucci, and his sister, Iole Pietrobono.
Italo will be remembered for his strong work ethic and his legacy will live on in his family that he cherished so deeply.
The family will receive friends and family on Wednesday, June 3, from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Hines-Rinaldi Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, June 4, 2026, at St. Andrew Apostle Catholic Church in Silver Spring, Maryland with interment immediately following at Gate of Heaven Cemetery. A celebration of life will follow for family and friends.
