

She is survived by her children James Morrissette Sr (Karen) and Leslie Ryder (Neil), her three grandchildren, Greg, Kelly (Michael), and Kyle, as well as by her best friend and sister, Ann Farwell. She was also well loved and will be remembered by her beloved nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews as well as family friends.
Jeanne Morrissette was born on January 20th, 1925 in Frederick, Maryland. She and her family moved to Washington, D.C., in 1934 where she attended Holy Comforter and Holy Trinity High School. She served as a Red Cross Volunteer during World War II selling war bonds in the lobbies of various DC theaters. After her husband’s death, she worked for Dow Jones, and then the Department of Agriculture for 28 years. In her retirement she was a volunteer with Meals on Wheels delivering to others until she was 90 years old. She was well loved and will be greatly missed.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Our Lady of Grace, 15663 Norbeck Blvd, Silver Spring, MD on Saturday, June 26 at 11:00. Interment at Arlington National Cemetery will be private.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her honor to Little Sisters of the Poor, Washington, DC or Gilchrist Hospice Center, Howard County.
