On April 13, 2018, Mary Ellen Godwin, of Washington, DC. Beloved wife of Anthony Stanitz. Loving mother of Ron Godwin, and Jeanne Kibby. Cherished grandmother of Alexis and Rachel. Dear daughter of Ralph and Ida Carlisle. Mary grew up in Adams Morgan Washington, DC. She was an avid roller skater medalist (the 1958 National Champion) and worked at Millie and Al's, still a landmark on 18th St. Mary and Tony purchased 2515 Cliffbourne Place in 1973. Mary and Tony have been married for more than 50 years. Visitation services will be held at Hines-Rinaldi Funeral Home, 11800 New Hampshire Ave., Silver Spring, MD 20904, Thursday, April 19, 2018 starting at 10 a.m. with funeral services to start at 11 a.m. Interment to immediately follow at Parklawn Memorial Park.
