Sarah Kabia

Mary was born on September 18, 1956, the third of the six children of Jack and Sally Yates. She is survived by her daughter, Nicole Kabia-Smith, her son Santigie Kabia and 5 grandchildren, of whom she loved and cherished. She is also survived by her siblings Susie Temple, Ivy Yates, Martin Yates and Jennifer Duran as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Mary’s early years of life were enjoyed on the family farm in Poolesville, MD. She later completed her middle school and high school years living in Chevy Chase, Maryland. Mary graduated from George Washington University with a bachelor’s in accounting and obtained her CPA. She worked for various companies such as General Motors, Disclosure and PG&E Trading Company. Mary’s integrity and strong work ethic were the foundation of her successful career.

Her home and her office door were always open to those who needed an ear to listen, a break to laugh and relax or words of wisdom.

Mary was always ready for a great adventure. She loved the beach, traveling, numbers, puzzles, games ( especially winning), music, good movies, good friends and family.

Mary’s brilliance, caring nature, loyalty and love for others will be greatly missed by many. We love you, Mom, Grandmom, Mary, Momma K!
