Dennis N Pomelow

He was born June 27, 1949 in Skowhegan, Maine, the son of Nathan A. and Elaine J. (Breton) Pomelow.

Dennis graduated from Skowhegan High School in the class of 1967 and in 1971 he received his bachelor’s degree as a Veterinary Technician.

He spent a number of years as a projectionist at the Skowhegan Strand Movie Theater; he also worked in the Skowhegan area shoe shops.

Dennis was a black belt in the Shotokan Karate discipline and a brown belt in another martial art discipline. He was an avid collector of stamps and coins, and he also enjoyed doing puzzles, an avid reader, liked to knit and crochet.

He is survived by his siblings; James Pomelow and his wife Glenna of Cornville, Stephen Pomelow and his wife Donna of Skowhegan, William Pomelow and his wife Martha of Norridgewock, Timothy Pomelow and his wife Midge of Solon, many nieces and nephews, he is also survived by his two uncles; Norman Breton and his wife Kitty of Dexter, Paul Breton and his wife Nancy of Maine and Florida, two aunts; Natalie Pomelow of Skowhegan, and Dolline Roy of Madison.

He is predeceased by his mom and dad.

A graveside service will be held on Monday June 24, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at the Calvary Cemetery in Skowhegan, Maine, with the Rev. Mark Tanner officiating.

Arrangements are under the care and direction of Smart & Edwards Funeral Home, 183 Madison Ave., Skowhegan, Maine.
