She was born September 14, 1950 in Waterville, a daughter of Gloria M. and the late Orris C. Hewett.
She received her Associates and Medical Dental Assistant Degree from the University of Maine and Kennebec Valley Technical College respectively. She was a past member of the Order of the Eastern Star.
After receiving her Degrees and building a family she found her passion working right in her own hometown and moved away from the Medical field.
For over 20 years she was always present at her second home away from home where she was employed at the Town Office in Skowhegan, always with a smiling face, she shared her compassion and quite often a laugh or two with the town folk
Gail had a lot of spunk and go in her strut and she knew how to crack a joke and push through each day as it was brought before her. She lived her life for her family and cherished each holiday with a house filled with laughter, family, and friends that were an extension of her own family.
Her glowing day in the past year was when she welcomed her first granddaughter Addison Mae Paradis into this world.
Her motto as inscripted on her living room wall was: “We All Make A Living By What We Get And We Make A Life By What We Give”.
Her survivors that she leaves behind include her mother, Gloria Hewett of Skowhegan, her two daughters: Lynn Marie Merrick of Skowhegan; Christie Ann and husband Paul Daniel Paradis along with her first granddaughter Addison Mae Paradis of Sidney. Gail is also survived by her siblings: Donna Folsom and husband Michael, Orris Timothy Hewett and his wife Sharon, Jeffrey Hewett and his wife Joanne, and Lorri Hewett all of Skowhegan. She also held a place in her heart for her many special nieces and nephews. She is also survived by several aunts and uncles.
Gail was predeceased by her father Orris C. Hewett.
