
He was born February 8, 1923 in Madison, Maine, the son of Clifton Huggins and Eda (Quimby) Huggins.
He graduated from Madison High School in the class of 1941. In February of 1942 he joined the Army during World War II, in the 3rd Armored Division.
He married the former Jane C Sauer in November of 1948 and they raised their family in Boylston, MA.
He worked for Navistar as a parts clerk and at Digital in security. After retirement he worked part-time at Dosco Sheet Metal.
Lester was a Cub and Boy Scout leader; he was a member of the Boylston Congregational Church, and a member of the Boylston Senior Citizens. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing, woodworking, and he always had a fondness for animals. Lester loved the time he spent with his family.
He is survived by his wife of 64 years; Jane of Madison, his son Gary Huggins and his wife Kim of Norridgewock, his grandchildren; Amanda Hight and her husband Sam, Timothy Huggins and his girlfriend Kelly, several nieces and nephews, and special friends Doug and Maxine Hoskins.
He was predeceased by his sister Helena and his brother Norman.
A graveside service will be held in the spring at Forest Hill Cemetery in Madison.
