

He was born October 20, 1944 in Skowhegan, Maine, the son of Lillian Javery and Edward A. Day
Paul was an outdoorsman who was also a crafty woodcarver and a talented mechanic and he enjoyed doing body work. He also loved to play video games.
Paul is survived by the love of his life for the past ten years Alice Austin, his children; Evelyn Bowers and her husband Charles, Robert Day and his wife Melanie, Melissa Day and her significant other Danny Corson, Paul Day Jr., Ginger Bolz, Lee Allen Day, 12 grandchildren, 1 great-grandchild, brothers; Robert Day Sr. and Albert Day Sr., nephew Jed Day, 3 stepsons; David Austin and his wife Mari, Gordon Austin, Mike Austin and his wife Stephanie, 10 step-grandchildren, 3 step-great-grandchildren; special adopted daughter, Marie Blanchard and the many children that Paul and Alice adopted over the years; his canine companions, David and Bandit.
He was predeceased by his mother Lillian Javery, nephews Jimmy Day and Robert Day Jr.
Viewing hours will be held on Saturday February 27, 2010 from 10 to 11 a.m. at Smart & Edwards Funeral Home, 183 Madison Ave., Skowhegan, Maine, funeral service to follow at 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be held in the spring at the Sunsetview Cemetery in Norridgewock.
Burial arrangements are under the care and direction of Smart & Edwards Funeral Home, 183 Madison Ave., Skowhegan, Maine.
