Theresa Adelaide (Ouellette) Sites, 92, died January 25, 2018 in God’s hand then brought her to heaven to join her long & only love (the late) Leland (Skeeter) Frank Sites in Skowhegan She was born on January 18, 1926 in Skowhegan, Maine, The daughter of Charles and Odelie (Vashon) Ouellette, and a communicant of Notre Dame de Lourdes and Christ the King Parish. Theresa was a mom, homemaker, grammy, great-grammy- nana and a loving wife and daredevil.
Theresa at 16 years old traveled to Old Orchard beach to ride the biggest wooden Roller Coaster then 60 years later, for her birthday, she and friend rode the coaster for the last time. Theresa worked in the woolen mill at a young age to help support her family. She was admired by her co-workers because of her work ethic where ever she worked. She helped build the home where she has lived for over 60 years. She also worked as a seamstress and dressmaker from home.
She was a communicant of the Notre Dame de Lourdes Church (now Christ the King Parish) in Skowhegan. In her youth, she was a member of the Daughters of Isabella Circle #441. Theresa was a long time supporter of the Skowhegan Knights of Columbus Council # 2089 starting with her dad then, husband and then her boys. Theresa was a wonderful cook and shared her talent with all the neighbor hood kids. She was so happy to have large dinner gatherings for any event. Mom was a special lady because she supported her three son’s who entered the military life in the Air Force, Army & Navy. Being a military mom, was not easy, she explained she had to buy a world map just to keep track of them. In her spare time she created a Christmas Village for all four boys. Theresa was an avid animal lover feeding her wild birds and watching squirrels, especially her dogs which are laid to rest under her bedroom window.
Most of all was how much she loved her family.
Theresa is predeceased by her parents; husband, Leland F. (Skeeter) Sites; one sister, Rita (Ouellette Danforth of Newport, R.I.
She is survived by her son; Brian L. & Kathy (Thibodeau) Sites of Skowhegan ME, Grand-child Jennifer G. (Sites) Craig of Florida great-grand-children Shane & Seth Craig of Skowhegan, grand child, Christina L. (Sites) Kenney of Madison, grand child, Theresa L. (Sites) Howard and her husband Shawn of Cornville, great grandchildren, Dalton & Bryson Howard, Son, Brent A. & (the late) Sarah Currier Sites, grand-children Elizbeth (Sites) & Adam Daigle and great grandchild Dexter Daigle of Lisbon, grand-children Dan & Ashley (Delong) Sites of Topsham, great grandchild Madeline Sites, Special son and longtime caregiver, Barry J. Sites, son Blaine Jude & Rhonda (Atwood) Sites of Skowhegan, grand- child Tracey (Poirier) & Devon Peterson; great grand-child Brandon Peterson of Bowdinham, ME, grand-child Ashle Sites of Skowhegan, ME, Grand-child Anthony Sites of Skowhegan, ME.
Tentatively a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday May 5, 2018 at 10 a.m. at the Notre Dame de Lourdes Church, Water St., Skowhegan, Maine. Burial will take place at the Calvary Cemetery in Skowhegan, Maine.
Arrangements are under the care and direction of Smart & Edwards Funeral Home, 183 Madison Ave., Skowhegan, Maine.
