Charles Allen Goertz

Charles Allen Goertz, 63, of String Prairie, passed away unexpectedly Thursday, October 31, 2013. Charles was born November 25, 1949 in Bastrop, TX to Martin and Irene Goertz of Rockne, TX. He is survived by his mother Irene, wife of 42 years, Doris; his 5 brothers: Paul, John, Alois, Victor, and Francis; his 5 sisters: Mary, Lucille, Madeleine, Margaret and Kathleen; his 3 sons: Chuck and wife LeeAnn, Pat and wife Dane, Chris and wife Alesha; his 10 grandchildren: Wyatt, Karrie, Cade, Dylan, Kylie, Samantha, Kinsey, Brooke, Luke, and Bodie.

Charles proudly served in the U.S. Navy from 1969-73. After service he spent the rest of his life raising his family, working as a rancher @ Rosanky Cattle Company, and enjoying country living. Charles was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, friend, counselor, sponsor, and role model to everyone he touched. He was an expert varmint hunter and spent many moonlit nights hunting coyotes.
