Mark Joseph Stroh, 65, of Arlington, Wash., beloved father, grampie, son, brother and friend, left this earth on Saturday morning, August 20, 2016, to join his already-departed family and friends waiting on him in Heaven. He probably arrived in time to once again enjoy his Dad's early morning off-key whistling along with his watery poached eggs on soggy toast. A breakfast treat that was never missed until it was nevermore. Mark was the last born child and only son of Kermit and Marie Stroh, born to them on September 25, 1950. He was raised in Snohomish, Wash., attended Central School, Snohomish Junior High, and graduated Snohomish High School, class of 1968. He went on to attend Washington State University graduating with a degree in Animal Science. Throughout his El-Hi years of schooling, he was a member of 4-H and FFA, showing his cattle and hogs to many awards and ribbons at the local fairs and FFA competitions. After college, Mark worked at Weyerhauser Mill B for several years, followed by employment with Scott Paper Company. In the latter part of the 1980's, he began his career with the City of Everett Animal Shelter and retired from there as an Animal Control Officer in 2008. The pride and joy of Mark's life were his two dearly loved children, Leah and Colin. He was a single custodial parent for many years and his kids' needs and goals were always his number one priority with their happiness and many accomplishments the only reward he concerned himself with. Being the best parent he could be was never a sacrifice for him, only a privilege and honor. The birth of his granddaughter, Madeleine Marie Osier in 2014, was the continuation of this privilege and honor which he combined with an immeasurable amount of unabashed adoration. Maddie was Grampa's Peanut and became his Princess P. Mark is survived by his daughter, Leah, her husband, Mark Osier, and their daughter, Madeleine, his son, Colin, Army Special Forces, Ft. Bragg, N.C., his two sisters, Sandra Moore (Weldon) and Kamille Mandel (Ronnie), his niece, Sarah Mandel (Randy Ridgway), and the Jay and Vicki Schwab family, his "wheating" family whom he loved as his own. Mark was preceded in this exit exercise by his parents, grandparents, and his Wazzu/Wilson Creek wheater-brother-in-arms, Jay Schwab. At Mark's request, no formal services will be held. A graveside family burial of his ashes will take place at the GAR cemetery in Snohomish. Arrangements are being handled by Bauer Funeral Chapel, Snohomish, WA. -
