

Vivian was born on March 8, 1917, to Roscoe and Hazel Carter in Dewey, Oklahoma. Her family moved to Snohomish, Washington in the 1930's where Vivian graduated in 1936 from Snohomish High School. She was an accomplished violinist at Snohomish High School and a self-taught pianist and organist later in life. She was very proud of the years that she worked in some of Seattle's finest department stores including I Magnin, Frederick & Nelson's and the Bon Marche. She also worked at the 1962 Seattle Worlds Fair, the Edgewater Hotel and the Olympic Hotel as operator, hostess and night auditor. Vivian was preceded in death by her parents, Roscoe and Hazel, her stepfather, Owen Williams; her husband, Irving Peters; her beloved daughter, Gretchen; and family members, Fran and Dive Peters. She is survived by her son, Dale and his wife, Fran, grandson, Zubin (Jennifer), granddaughter, Ayesha (JR) and grandchildren, Kai, Kimo and Fathom. She was "special grandma" to Martie (Jim) Colbert, Becky Whitefield (Brandon), Brittney, Brianna, Jack, Joe and Jake. Vivian is also survived by nephews, Tom Peters, Don Peters; nieces, Nancy Peters, Pam Peters, Melrene Wasserman, Jean Bochon and Bernie Stillwell, step-grandchildren, Vicki Green and Craig Blackwood. Special thanks to Bothell healthcare and their amazing staff. Viewing and memorial service will be held at Cypress Lawn in Everett, WA at 2 p.m. on Friday March 25, 2016.
