

Clerio R. Carducci, 94, of Solvay, passed away Friday March 23rd at St. Joseph’s Hospital. Born in Chisolm, Minnesota, he lived in Solvay most of his life. He was a US Navy Veteran of World War II. Clerio was employed by Crucible Steel for 40 years before retiring as an Ultrasonic Inspector in 1980. He was a member of the Stanley Pennock VFW Post 2893, where he was past president and commander, the Solvay-Geddes Vets, the Hilltop Club, and the Steelworkers Union. He was a longtime communicant of St. Cecilia Church and past member of its Holy Name Society. Clerio was predeceased by his wife Mary in 1999, and his 3 brothers, Rudolph, Alfred and Romeo.
He is survived by a sister, Clara Babbini, of Solvay, a sister-in-law, Elda Carducci, of Camillus and many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted at 9:15 am Monday in BAGOZZI TWINS FUNERAL HOME, Solvay, and 10 am at St. Cecilia Church, Solvay, where a funeral Mass will be celebrated. Burial will follow in Onondaga County Veteran’s Memorial Cemetery. Calling hours are from 1to 4 pm Sunday at the funeral home, 2601 Milton Avenue.
