

Michael Mascette, 92, of Solvay, passed away Thursday August 16th at St. Joseph’s Hospital. Born in Syracuse to Joseph and Mary (Ranieri) Mascette, he lived in Solvay most of his life. Michael was a pipefitter at Allied Chemical for many years before retiring in 1983. He was a US Army Veteran and member of the Geddes Veterans. He was a communicant of St. Cecilia Church, a member of the Steamfitters Union and as an avid outdoorsman, he was a fishing and hunting enthusiast. Michael was predeceased by his parents, a sister, Rose Monti and 3 brothers, Vincent, Paul and Leonard.
He is survived by his sister; Dolores Nicolini, a nephew; Richard Nicolini, 6 nieces; Karen (Anthony) Romano, Joanne Nieves, Phyllis DiFlorio, Elaine Cardone, Susan (William) Brandt and Alice (James Leyden) Mascette, MD, 16 great nieces and nephews, 5 great-great nieces and nephews and 1 great-great-great nephew.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated Monday August 20th at 10 am in St. Cecilia Church, Solvay. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery, DeWitt. Calling hours are Sunday August 19th from 1 to 3 pm at BAGOZZI TWINS FUNERAL HOME, 2601 Milton Avenue.
