Mr. Neil D. Smith

Neil D. Smith, 56, of Syracuse, passed away Wednesday February 29th at Upstate University Hospital. Born in Syracuse, he was raised in Solvay. He worked at St. Camillus Health and Rehabilitation Center for 10 years followed by 25 years as a custodial crew leader at Hancock International Airport. He was a member of AFSCME local 1773, a lifelong SU sports fan, longtime listener of Sunday Morning Blue Moon Café on TK99 and longtime lover of local bands and music. Neil was predeceased by his parents William and Kathryn Smith, and 2 brothers, William and John.

He is survived by his son; Justin, his daughter; Ashley, their mother; Cheryl Fenner-Smith, his beloved companion; Mary Gagnon, 2 brothers; Chester and Ronald, and many nieces and nephews.

Calling Hours are from 1 to 3:30 pm Sunday March 11th with services immediately following at 3:30 pm at BAGOZZI TWINS FUNERAL HOME, 2601 Milton Avenue. Private burial will be in Onondaga Valley Cemetery, Syracuse.
