Rita (Poli) Benedetti

Rita (Poli) Benedetti, 93, of Solvay, passed away Friday, October 2, 2015 at St. Camillus Health and Rehabilitation Center. She was born in Solvay to the late Joseph and Theresa (Ciaponi) Poli in 1921. She was an assembler at Pass and Seymour for many years before retiring in 1984. Rita was a lifelong communicant of St. Cecilia’s Church and a member of its Altar and Rosary Society. Rita proudly served the community as a Clown with Clowning For Joy for many years. She was predeceased by her husband John in 2008.

She is survived by her daughter; Rita (Robert) Paine, of Solvay, son; John (Darcy), of Pennsylvania, 3 grandchildren; Kevin (Abbie) Paine, Elizabeth Paine and Nancy Benedetti, 3 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 9:30 am Tuesday, October 6, 2015 at St. Cecilia Church, Solvay. The Rite of committal and entombment will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery, DeWitt.
