William J. Holbert

William J. Holbert, 83, of Auburn, passed away Tuesday at the VA Hospital with his loving family by his side. He was born in Starlight, PA to the late John and Minia (Kingsbury) Holbert. William was an Army veteran of the Korean War. He retired from Stauffer Chemical in Skaneateles Falls where he worked as a tow motor operator. He was also an avid gardener. William is predeceased by his brothers Clarence and George Holbert and brother-in-law Donald Martin.

He is survived by his wife of 62 years, the former Beverly Martin, 3 daughters; Sherry Hebert, Vickie (Jay) Osborne, and Donna Dennington, 3 sons; Dwayne (Jackie), William Jr. (Diane), and Gary (Elsie), many grandchildren and great-grandchildren, sister; Olive Fagile, sisters-in-law, Barbara Martin and Catherine Holbert, brother-in-law Clayton (Mary) Martin and many nieces and nephews.

Services and burial were privately held at the Onondaga County Veteran’s Memorial Cemetery. There were no calling hours. Bagozzi Twins Funeral Home has care of arrangements.
