Audette B. Richard

Audette B. (Bishop) Richard 86 of Somerset died peacefully Wednesday, August 8, 2012 at her residence surrounded by her family. She was the wife of Ronald R. Richard, to whom she had been married 53 years.

Born in Fall River daughter of the late Manuel and Mary (Oliveira) Bishop, she has been a Somerset resident for the last 46 years and a communicant of St. Patrick’s Church.

She graduated from Thibodeau’s Business School in 1943.

Employed as a administrator at the Newport Naval Base and the VA in Providence for 18 years and retired in 1961. Later she worked as a secretary in the Somerset School Dept. and as a receptionist at Keyes Oil Co. She was an avid gardener, enjoyed knitting, sewing, baking, spending time with her children and grandchildren and shopping for the grandchildren.

Surviving in addition to her husband, two sons Randall R. Richard of Somerset, Mark B. Richard M.D. and his wife Stacy of Hamstead, NH, one daughter Lisa M. Barnes and her husband Russ of Dunstable, MA., one brother Henry Bishop of Tiverton, RI, one sister Madeline Pereira of Somerset, MA., five grandchildren Elizabeth M., Nicholas M., and Matthew J. Richard, Jacob R. and Hannah E. Barnes and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral Saturday, August 11, 2012 at 9AM from the WARING-SULLIVAN HOME OF MEMORIAL TRIBUTE AT ROSE E. SULLIVAN 866 County St. Somerset, MA. followed by a funeral mass at 10AM in St. Patrick’s Church, 306 South St., Somerset. Burial will be in St. Patrick’s Cemetery in Somerset. Visiting hours Friday from 4-8PM.
