Francis L. Cotter Jr.

Born in Fall River, a son of the late Francis L., Sr. and Yvonne (Bernard) Cotter, he was a life-long resident of the area.

Frank was a graduate of B.M.C. Durfee High School in Fall River Class of 1959, received his Bachelor of Business degree from SMU, now UMASS Dartmouth and earned his Master’s degree in Education from Bridgewater State University.

Mr. Cotter was a Clinical Research Director at Boehringer Ingelheim in CT for over 30 years, retiring in 2012. He loved playing cards with his friends, riding his Harley Davison and going to the beach. He also loved spending time with his dogs Brady and Gizmo.

He was a loving, generous, and devoted father, grandfather, brother and friend. Frank was a beacon of light to all who knew him. He will be missed beyond words.

He is survived by his three children, Kerri L. Kern and her husband Stephen of Swansea, Christine Organ and her husband Dr. Scott Organ of Avon, CT and F. Jon Cotter and his wife Dale of Burrillville, RI; nine grandchildren, Nicholas, Jacob and Caitlyn Martin, Lauren, Erin and Zachary Kern, Alexa, Spencer and Cooper Organ; his sister, Marilyn “Lindy” Cotter-Jolivet and her husband Norman of Little Compton, RI; two nieces, Barbara Messier of Swansea and Michelle Higgins and her husband Kevin of Florida and many close friends. He was the brother of the late Barbara Cotter.

His Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, September 29, 2018 at 9:00 AM from the Waring-Sullivan Home at Rose E. Sullivan, 866 County St., Somerset followed by his Funeral Mass at 10:00 AM in St. Joseph’s Church, 1335 North Main St., Fall River, Visiting hours are Friday from 5:00–8:00 PM. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, P.O. Box 417005, Boston, MA 02241. Burial will be private.
