Jean M. LeComte

Born in Fall River the daughter of the late Milton and Elizabeth (Braney) Briere, she spent most of her life in Fall River and Somerset before moving to Norwood 4 years ago. Mrs. LeComte was a 1954 graduate of BMC Durfee High School and later the Katherine Gibbs School. She was employed as a bookkeeper with Parks Shellac in Somerset and Pearson Yachts in Fall River for many years.

Jean enjoyed many sailing adventures with her husband and three sons through the years to her favorite places like Martha’s Vineyard and Block Island. Mrs. LeComte, along with her late husband were members of the Somerset and Tiverton Yacht Clubs.

She is survived by her three sons William L. LeComte and his wife Rachel of Burlington, MA, Kenneth J. LeComte and his wife Helena of Taunton and Thomas E. LeComte of Fall River; three grandchildren Kyle, Renee and Nathan LeComte; a sister Barbara Schroeder of Fall River; two brothers Richard Briere of Somerset and Robert Briere of San Francisco, CA and several nieces and nephews. Mrs. LeComte was also the sister of the late Normand Briere and Marion Madonna.

Her funeral will be held on Thursday, May 16, 2013 at 9AM from the WARING-SULLIVAN HOME OF MEMORIAL TRIBUTE T ROSE E. SULLIVAN 866 County St., Somerset followed by her funeral mass at 10AM in St. Patrick’s Church, 306 South St., Somerset. Visiting hours will be Wednesday from 4 to 8PM. Flowers welcome or memorial contributions in her honor may be made to the American Cancer Society, 30 Speen St., Framingham, MA 01701. Burial will be St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Somerset.
