Margaret T. Clifford

She was born in Fall River, the daughter of the late John P. and Dorothy (Lafferty) Clifford and was a graduate of BMC Durfee High School. Miss Clifford was employed as the Secretary to the President of the former Montaup Electric for 34 years until her retirement in 1981. She was also employed as an Operator with the former New England Telephone.

Miss Clifford was a volunteer at the Somerset Library, a communicant of St. Thomas More Church and a member of its’ Women’s Guild.

She is survived by her sister Kathryn J. Garvey of Somerset and her brother Thomas T. Clifford of N. Dighton and many nieces and nephews. She was also sister of the late John P. Clifford and Eileen O’Gara.

Her funeral will be held on Wednesday, August 13, 2014 at 10AM from the WARING-SULLIVAN HOME OF MEMORIAL TRIBUTE AT ROSE E. SULLIVAN 866 County St., Somerset followed by her funeral mass at 11AM in St. Thomas More Church 386 Luther Ave., Somerset. Visiting hours will be Wednesday prior to her mass from 10 – 10:45AM. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Fall River Fire Museum Inc., Anawan No. 6, 1181 N. Main St., Fall River, MA 02720. Burial will be in St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Fall River.
