Born in Fall River, a daughter of the late John and Mary (Mello) Raymond, she lived in Assonet and wintered in Fort Myers Beach Florida for many years.
Mrs. Arruda enjoyed dining out, traveling and spending time with her family and friends.
She is survived by one daughter, Cynthia Hanna and her husband Stephen of Somerset, three sons, Gary Arruda of Fall River, Dana Arruda and his wife Pamela of Sebastian, Florida and Todd Arruda and his partner Kenneth Souza of Fall River; one step-son, Gregory Tavares and his wife Anne of Assonet; nine grandchildren – Stefanie Tavares, Jillian Tavares, Gregg Tavares, Kyle Arruda, Kory Arruda, Kendra Arruda, Kourtney Arruda, Jeremy Arruda and Brendan Hanna, nine great-grandchildren – Tyler Arruda, Bryce Figueroa, Mya Figueroa, Jayce Figueroa, Owen Alix, Blake Alix, Seraphina Gagnier, Caitlin Hanna and Cole Hanna with three on the way; many nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Alfred Raymond, Edward Raymond and Dolores Calis.
Her Funeral will be held on Wednesday, May 23, 2018 at 8 AM from the Waring-Sullivan Home at Rose E. Sullivan, 866 County Street, Somerset, followed by a Mass at 10:30 AM in Saint Thomas More Church, 386 Luther Avenue, Somerset. Visiting hours are Wednesday from 8:00 – 10:00 AM prior to the mass.
