

Antonio J. Pereira, age 66, of Dartmouth, passed away Sunday, January 24, 2016 surrounded by his loving family after a courageous battle with cancer. He was the husband of Bella (Oliveira) Pereira to whom he had been married for 43 years.
Born in Bombarral, Portugal, the son of the late Antonio and Aurora (Rosa) Pereira, he immigrated to the United States at the age of 17. Antonio was employed as a Union Carpenter with Local #1305 in Fall River for many years until his retirement in 2008. He enjoyed camping, fishing, traveling and home improvement projects.
In addition to his wife of 43 years, he is survived by a daughter Diana J. Rodriguez and her husband Jose of Dartmouth; a grandson Lucas Rodriguez; a sister Anabela Pereira-Nelson and her husband Richard of Dartmouth and their daughter Nicole Nelson; brothers and sisters in-laws Carlos Aguiar of Dartmouth, Alfred Oliveira of New Bedford, Roy Oliveira of Freetown, Mario Oliveira of Dartmouth, John Oliveira of Salisbury, MA, Carmen Mendonsa of Ormond Beach,FL, Maria Silva of Dartmouth and many nieces and nephews.
His funeral will be held on Thursday, January 28, 2016 at 8AM from the WARING-SULLIVAN HOME OF MEMORIAL TRIBUTE AT DARTMOUTH 230 Russells Mills Rd., Dartmouth, followed by his Funeral Mass at 9AM in Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church 230 Bonney St., New Bedford. Visiting hours will be Wednesday from 4 to 7PM.
