It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Barbara Sher on June 4, 2025 surrounded by her loving family. She was born in New Bedford, MA on June 28, 1940. She lived in North Dartmouth for most her life until moving to The Oaks Nursing Home a few years go.
Barbara graduate from New Bedford High. She was married to Philip (Paul) Sher for 59 years until his passing on May 1 2020.
Barbara was a homemaker, but had worked at Guys in downtown New Bedford before purchasing the store renaming it to Housewares Etc. Both Barbara and Paul volunteered at the Zeiterion Theater and Providence Performing Arts Center.
Barbara most enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, Amanda and Tyler. She shared her love of theater, frequently taking them to shows. Many memories were made touring Martha's Vineyard and shopping at the Wrentham outlets.
Barbara is survived by her son Adam, his wife Christine and grandchildren Amanda and Tyler, a sister Ruth Glicksman and brother Henry Horenstein.
