

Hadwen C. Perry, Jr., of South Dartmouth, MA passed away June 3, 2016 at St Luke’s Hospital at age 87. He was the loving husband of the late Betsey (Cutler) Perry, and devoted father of Thomas Perry (deceased), Richard Perry, Christopher Perry, James Perry, and Emily Perry (and stepfather to William H. Cliff, Barbara C. Kowalski, and Elizabeth Cliff-Rafferty).
Born in Worcester, Massachusetts, he was the son of the late Hadwen C. Perry Sr. and Abagail (Whipple) Perry. Hadwen was predeceased by his first wife, Rita Jensen Perry, of Needham, MA, and his sister, Jeanne Evans, of West Roxbury and Easton, MA. Hadwen is also survived by 14 grandchildren, 1 great grandchild, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Hadwen was a graduate of Norwich University, Class of 1952; honorably served in active duty as a First Lieutenant in the U.S. Army during the Korean War era stationed at Fort Bragg, NC and Fort Ord, CA, and then began working as an Aerospace Engineer at General Electric for 39 years first in Cincinnati, OH, and then at the Lynn Works, MA until his retirement.
During his retirement he was a member of the Great Plain Squares dance club, the Highland Glee Club, and loved to travel across the United States in his motor home when not spending time in Punta Gorda Florida during the winter months. He also traveled Europe.
His celebration of life will be held Saturday, June 11, 2016 at 10:30am in the Congregational Church of South Dartmouth, 17 Middle Street, Dartmouth. Burial will be private.
