Johannes A. Bjornson, Jr.

Born in Winthrop, MA, a son of the late Johannes A. Bjornson, Sr. and Alice (Erskine) Bjornson, he had resided in Dartmouth for the past 45 years.

He proudly served in the United States Navy from 1963-1966.

Mr. Bjornson had worked for the US Postal Service for 35 years until his retirement.

Johannes was a health enthusiast who enjoyed working out at the former European Health Spa and Health Trax. He also enjoyed fishing.

Surviving in addition to his wife is a son, Charles Bjornson and his wife Kimberly; his grandchildren, Joshua Bjornson and his wife Sarah, Alycia Bjornson and her husband Matthew Mendonca, Elijah Bjornson, Noah Bjornson and Sebastian Bjornson; his great grandchildren, Ariya Mendonca, Hazel Mendonca and Theo Bjornson.

Visiting hours will be held at Waring-Sullivan Home at Dartmouth, 230 Russells Mills Road, Dartmouth, on Thursday, June 26, 2025, from 8:00 am to 9:30 am, followed by a Funeral Mass at St. Julie Billiart Church, 494 Slocum Rd, Dartmouth at 10:00 am. Burial will follow at Rural Cemetery in New Bedford.
